A Message From
The Principal
Mrs Claire Allen
We hope all of our families enjoyed a wonderful Easter long weekend. We only have one week left of Term 1 and a lot to fit into this final week. We thank our families for their understanding of the change of date for the SRC Colour Run and look forward to enjoying this event next Thursday when the weather is much nicer. We wish all of our students attending the State Swimming the best of luck and know they will represent themselves and our school with pride.
As we near the holidays, I would sincerely like to thank our families for making sure our students get to school every day, on time, and ready to learn. Our students can only make progress when they are in their learning spaces with their brains ready and engaged in the lesson. We have seen improvement in our weekly attendance percentages for each class and look forward to our end-of-term celebrations for the highest attending classes.

Our school will host its annual ANZAC Day Ceremony on Friday, 12 April, commencing at 10:30am under the infants COLA. We cordially invite all our families to join us for this meaningful occasion hosted by our leadership team, followed by our customary Friendship Friday lunch. The canteen will have a special menu on offer for the day which is available to view on the MySchoolConnect app.
SRC - Colour Run
Our colour run is NEXT THURSDAY 11 APRIL.
Families are welcome to join us for this event. The funds raised from our colour run, coupled with a generous donation from the P&C, will be used to purchase new bubbler systems for our school that include water bottle refilling stations. Our current fundraising total stands at $9392. What an achievement!
What to know:
Week 10 Infants Assembly
This week's Infants assembly was led by 2C. The students kicked off the event with a chair drumming performance to the tune of 'Dance Monkey'.
In their classroom cardio chair drumming is a favourite brain break activity. 2C showcased their lion artwork, drawing inspiration from the color wheel.
A big thankyou goes out to our families for joining us at the assembly.
Week 11 Primary Assembly
Our families are welcome to attend our Wednesday afternoon assemblies where we celebrate student achievements and present their ongoing projects and activities.
6G will be hosting their assembly in week 11 - after being postponed in week 9. The 5H assembly, which was supposed to be on this week, has now been rescheduled for Week 2 of Term 2.
The assemblies start at 2:15pm in the school hall. If you can attend, please sign in at the front office.
PSSA Knockout Softball Match
On Thursday our girls and boys softball teams played their PSSA round 1 knockout match against Narrabri West Public School. Despite the rainy weather, both teams showed excellent resilience and sportsmanship. The boys played first, securing an early lead with some fantastic catches in the outfield and great running between the bases to score early runs.
The boys continued to fight hard throughout the match, but, unfortunately, after 4 innings, the West secured the win, 16-11. The girls then took to the field and started their match by scoring 9 runs in the first innings.
They continued their dominance of the game with excellent fielding and teamwork, to run away with the win, 12-6 after 4 innings. Our girls team will now head to Tamworth on Tuesday, 18 June, to participate in the next round of the competition. A special thankyou to Dale Nixon for umpiring our 2 matches today.
NSWPSSA Swimming Championships
On Thursday, 11 April, Mia Yates, Abigail Clark, Maddison Saunders, Casey Lamb and Charlie-Lea Hulbert will be competing at the NSW State Swimming Championships being held at the Sydney Olympic Aquatic Centre at Homebush.
Mia is competing in the 8yrs girls 50m freestyle and Abigail in the 9yrs girls 50m freestyle. Our Junior Girls Relay team, consisting of Abigail, Maddison, Casey and Charlie-Lea, will also be competing on the day. These girls have been training hard as a team for the past few weeks in readiness for this amazing opportunity that they earned by finishing in the top 3 in their events at the Northwest trials in Armidale. This will be an experience of a lifetime for these girls to be swimming against the best swimmers across NSW at the Sydney Olympic Pool.
We wish them all the best and can‘t wait to hear all about their experience.
