A Message From
The Principal
Mrs Claire Allen
We are very excited by our recent upgrades, care of our amazing GA, Mr Troy Nipperess. Mr Nipperess has been working for the past few weeks fixing up the library walls and repainting them, giving a bright facelift to our hall. We are now looking into some impressive new signage and banners and look forward to having the upgrades completed by the end of this term.
In the school holidays, Mr Nipperess will be hard at work again, improving our school grounds by removing approximately 180 square metres of paving from in front of the Year 3 classroom block, replacing the pavers with a grassed area and more trees. This should result in a lovely learning and play environment upgrade that benefits our students for many years to come. We will also finish the new garden upgrade across the front of the primary COLA, adding in a murraya hedge, turfed areas and trees, in addition to turfing the sloped areas between the administration building and the library. Also during the holidays, we will aerate the grassed area where our infants students play soccer and will have our grounds looking incredible for the start of Term 4. We are very grateful for the incredible work of our GA and all our extra staff members who support keeping our school a beautiful place to work, learn and play.
Week 7 Primary Assembly
Our week 7 assembly was hosted by 4S. 4S hosted this week's primary assembly, kicking off with an energetic performance of "Witch Doctor" by the Cartoons. In English, they've been exploring the story of Ned Kelly and debating whether he was a hero or criminal. A group of students, including Chase, Max, Kohen, Will, Jayden, Blake, and Jarrod, presented their adaptation of the story. Audrey, Payton, Kyana, Maddie, and Abi performed the play "Adventures of Cool Bean."
Week 8 Primary Assembly
Our families are invited to join us for our Wednesday afternoon assemblies. These ceremonies are to celebrate student achievement and showcase projects and activities they are working on.
Our week 8 assembly is hosted by 5H
The assemblies kick off at 2:15pm in the school hall. If you can make it, kindly sign in at the front office.
North West Athletics
On Wednesday, 4 September, Narrabri Public School had 14 students represent our school at the Northwest Athletics trials in Tamworth. Our team of athletes displayed great sportsmanship and produced lots of Personal Bests against outstanding athletes from across our Northwest area.
A special mention goes to Naiya Cochrane and our Junior Girls Relay Team, consisting of Maddison Saunders, Casey Lamb, Jahnarlie Dixon and Tully Renaud. Naiya finished 1st in the Junior Girls Shot Put and 2nd in the Discus, with our relay team finishing 3rd in the final. These students now progress to the State championship held at Sydney Olympic Park on 23 and 24 October as part of the Northwest Athletics Team.
Narrabri Public School would like to congratulate all the students who participated in the trials and wish Naiya and the Junior Girls Relay team all the best at State.

Once students have received their third white card, they will be eligible to then receive a Bronze Award, a fantastic recognition of their positive efforts. To celebrate this achievement, students are invited to attend one of our Bronzie Parties, with our first Bronzie celebration being held on Friday, 13 September. This a great way to acknowledge and celebrate our students hard work and dedication. Keep striving for those white cards!

In education
The best education happens when parents and schools work together. Working together as partners is fundamental to maintaining positive student behaviour in schools. To support this collaboration, our weekly digital newsletter will include the "What Parents and Carers Need to Know" series. These guides provide valuable information on online platforms, age-appropriate content, and games.
This week's focus is on Social Media and Mental Health
Like a lot of digital services, live streaming really found its niche during the pandemic – think of Joe Wicks’ at-home fitness classes, Billie Eilish’s virtual gigs and Miley Cyrus’ chat show, for example. Real-time broadcasting of video content over the internet isn’t solely the province of celebrities, however: anyone with a device and something to say (or show) can take part.
With platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, TikTok and Twitch all offering routes to a vast online audience, young people have enthusiastically taken up the baton – streaming on subjects from gaming to sports to live shopping (yes, really!). Potentially having strangers among one’s viewers, though, is just one of many concerns. Our guide has the key information.
