A Message From

Happy Easter to all our families! The Easter long weekend has come around very quickly and we only have 9 school days left this term. As our students get to the end of term they are becoming very tired but it is great to see them dig deep and find the resilience to make the most of every learning opportunity.

We are reviewing our positive behaviour expectations with our students and class displays and out of class pass systems have been implemented across the school to make sure our students understand how to contribute to a safe and respectful learning environment. The displays in every classroom and shared space can be seen below to ensure our families understand the school’s consistent message. By focusing on respect in all settings we are able to develop lifelong skills for our students.

Easter Raffle & Parade 2024

Our students and staff joined together to undertake the time-honoured tradition of parading with their hats or headdresses on and it was lovely to hear our students cheering each other along. Students put in a lot of effort to create a festive vibe at the event. Our Easter Raffle was a fantastic success with many students receiving prizes! Thankyou to our families for donating for this great fundraiser.

A big thankyou also goes out to the dedicated P&C members who volunteered their time to organize the generous donations and prepare the prizes for today's raffle.

We've sold a remarkable number of raffle tickets raising $1800. Money raised from this raffle will go towards the purchase of the new bubbler systems. Let's hope all the chocolate safely reaches its new homes by the end of the day.

Uniform Donations

The NPS Wellbeing Team manages a collection of second-hand uniforms. These items are lent to students who come to school without proper uniform attire or need a temporary outfit until they can acquire new uniforms. Occasionally students may keep items from our collection.

If you have any NPS uniform pieces that are still in good condition but no longer fit your child, or if your child has left NPS and you have excess uniform items, kindly consider donating them back to the school. Clean uniform items in good condition (free of tears or stains), such as school shirts, sport shorts, sport shirts, skirts, jumpers, and shoes, can be dropped off at the front office.

Your donations will positively impact our community, and we sincerely appreciate your support. Donations can be handed in at the front office.

Crossing Guard

NPS is pleased to announce that we will once again have a crossing guard! Ensuring the safety of our students as they travel to and from school is one of our top priorities. Ms McMurtrie will be there to assist and guide students and ensure that they can navigate their way safely across the busy pedestrian crossing. We are grateful for her dedication and commitment to keeping our students safe. Please join us in welcoming Ms McMurtrie to the NPS community!

Week 10 Infants Assembly

Our families are invited to join us for our Wednesday afternoon assemblies. These ceremonies are to celebrate student achievement and showcase projects and activities they are working on.

Our week 10 assembly is hosted by 2C

The assemblies kick off at 2:15pm in the school hall. If you can make it, kindly sign in at the front office.

Applying for placement in an opportunity class – a webinar for parents of Year 4 students

Wednesday, 3 April 2024 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm AEDT

If your child is currently in Year 4, you may wish to apply for placement in an opportunity class for Year 5 entry in 2025. You can find out more about the application and placement process by attending our webinar about opportunity classes on Wednesday, 3 April.

Opportunity classes are one of the ways that the NSW Department of Education provides support for high potential and intellectually gifted students.

Many public primary schools across NSW offer opportunity classes. Students living in rural and remote areas can also apply for a place at Aurora College, which provides online opportunity classes at approximately 600 host schools.

High potential and gifted students are supported across all NSW public high schools through the High Potential and Gifted Education policy.

Applications open on 4 April and close Monday 20 May 2024
